- Scott succeeds co-founder Charlotte Palermino, who takes on the role of chief brand officer.
- Scott spent close to 10 years with Tatcha, including as the beauty brand’s president and chief people officer. His previous executive positions have included stints with Malin + Goetz, Macy’s and L'Oréal, according to his LinkedIn profile.

The brand’s first move into brick-and-mortar retail was with over 700 Sephora locations in March of this year.
With the hiring of Scott, the young beauty brand gains a leader with more than two decades of experience in the beauty industry.
"Ryan's deep understanding of cross-functional collaboration between innovation, commercial, and creative teams is a perfect fit as we move into our next chapter of growth,” Palermino said in a statement. “Together, we'll continue challenging the beauty industry's norms and reaching more consumers who are eager to experience rituals that produce real results."
In his new role, Scott will focus on scaling the brand’s infrastructure in order to support its DTC business and grow its partnership with Sephora, the company said. Dieux continues to be fully distributed across Sephora's freestanding stores on the Next Big Thing wall, and due to strong launch performance, Dieux was expanded to additional linear space mid-year, Scott said in an email.
"I believe in letting brand and innovation lead the charge in product development, with commercial considerations acting as a filter rather than a driver," Scott said in a statement. "This approach will help us stay ahead of trends, creating them rather than simply reacting to them."
Scott added that he will be reviewing all facets of the brand’s business. “Currently, we're conducting a strategic review of our product pipeline and organizational structure,” Scott said in an email. “We have no immediate plans for distribution expansion.”
There have been a number of beauty CEO changes over the past year as brands look to scale their respective businesses to where markets are headed.
After six years as Redbox Entertainment’s CEO, Galen Smith took the top leadership role at Ipsy in September. Beauty veteran Savannah Sachs was named CEO at DTC skin care brand Eighth Day in January, while Bluemercury founder Marla Beck assumed the permanent CEO role at BeautyHealth in March after first serving on an interim basis. And JLo Beauty co-founder Lisa Sequino was tapped to take on the CEO role at Supergoop, replacing Amanda Baldwin, who became CEO at Olaplex.
