Skechers on Wednesday was compelled to state that it “is not considering and has no intention of working with” Ye, also known as Kanye West, after the fashion designer and hip hop star “arrived unannounced and without invitation” at one of its corporate offices in Los Angeles. Two Skechers executives escorted Ye and his entourage out of the building after speaking to him briefly, according to a company press release. He had been “engaged in unauthorized filming,” the company also said.
“We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech,” the footwear brand said in a statement.
Several brands including Adidas and Gap severed ties with Ye this week following weeks of racist and antisemitic actions and remarks he made across several platforms and venues. Retail Dive was unable to reach Ye for comment on his visit to Skechers.
