Dive Insight:
So far this year, RadioShack’s story has been pretty dismal, with it closing many more stores than it had anticipated, as many as 500. But the struggling electronics retailer is also opening stores, beefed up with the kind of shopping experience any retailer arguably needs to attract customers and persuade them to choose them above all others. Many have written RadioShack off, and it’s true the company is behind in its efforts to stay relevant in the new retail environment, which is especially tough in electronics. RadioShack appears to be doing all the right things; the question is whether it has enough time to turn things around.
