Dive Brief:
-
Nike CFO Donald Blair is retiring in October, the athletic gear retailer and manufacture announced Friday.
-
Blair has been in the position at Nike for more than 15 years and will remain there until July 31, staying on to aid in the transition.
-
The company’s SVP of finance, Andrew Campion, will succeed Blair Aug. 1.
Dive Insight:
Last year Blair said that Nike would quadruple its already impressive digital sales, which he said the company would accomplish by expanding e-commerce globally. He has also maintained that technological innovation is crucial to Nike, not just in areas like wearables, but even in products as workaday as socks.
“We are not always going to be the first in every category, but we’re absolutely going to be the best,” Blair told Bloomberg last October.
