Although most credit-card fraud worldwide still occurs online, the publicity of recent breaches at brick-and-mortar stores is likely contributing to consumers’ unease around whipping out their credit cards at the checkout counter. And, as FierceRetail notes, cybersecurity investigative blogger Brian Krebs says that brick-and-mortar retailers don’t do enough to keep their security systems and methods updated.
