Dive Brief:
-
J. Crew CFO and EVP Stuart C. Haselden will join Lululemon as CFO Feb. 2, the yoga-gear retailer announced Wednesday.
-
Lululemon CFO John Currie had announced his retirement plans last June.
-
Haselden served J. Crew as VP of financial planning and analysis starting in May 2012, and more recently as CFO and EVP, and was in a variety of other positions since joining the company in 2006. Previously he was at Saks in a number of roles from 1999 to 2005.
Dive Insight:
Stuart Haselden is a sporty guy, noting his passion for skiing, running and “cycling and outdoor activities with his wife and three children.”
That fits well with Lululemon and with the favored pastimes of its CEO Laurent Potdevin, who enjoys similar pursuits and who's been leading the company for about a year. Lululemon is also about a year into turning around its fortunes after suffering a few hits — some self-inflicted, some from increased competition in the activewear space.
