Quidsi, owned by Amazon, is now offering free overnight shipping on orders of $49 or more in New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles for some of its retail sites.

The Quidsi sites selling basic consumer goods, including diapers.com, soap.com, and wag.com, are included in the deal. For orders that include items from the other sites (because shoppers can combine purchases in their carts) or that are beyond delivery borders, the time will be an extra day or so.

Quidsi’s area is especially conducive to this trend, as people tend to stick to one brand of diaper, dog food, detergent, or toilet paper and are less likely to shop around.
Free shipping takes away the need to go to the store, and, unlike trying on shoes or testing out the feel of a new tablet, there’s really no fun in going to get diapers. Plus, for those products the $49 minimum is easy to reach.
