• The e-commerce giant bought robot warehouse technology company Kiva Systems Inc. two years ago and already has some 1,300 robots working in its warehouses.

Amazon has been accused of expecting its warehouse employees to reach super-human efficiencies, and employing actual robots might help the company reach its goals of speedy fulfillment. The e-retailer says it won’t be replacing human beings with the robots, but maybe with the help of these machines, it can allow them to perform at mere human levels.
