Since 2019, soona has worked with 17,000 brands and captured over 4 million product photos and videos. This unprecedented growth and scale for a creative company is largely due to soona’s technological breakthrough of the virtual studio — where brands ship their products to soona’s US based studios and join their photoshoot in real-time from anywhere in the world via soona’s platform.
Today, soona announced a number of new creative innovations within the soona platform itself that will allow brands to make, manage, and measure creative with confidence.
the soona score
Listing Insights is a leap forward for helping brands optimize their ecommerce visuals. This new tool creates a soona score allowing brands to harness the power of AI to gain valuable data and actionable recommendations to improve their product listing content. Other listing optimization tools focus solely on text-based optimization, leaving arguably the most important aspect of their listing - the visuals - untouched.
“We worked hand-in-hand with soona's creative team to train our AI so that it provides the first tangible score along with real improvements to a customer’s experience with a brand’s product listing,” said Cal Bethune, soona’s Chief Technology Officer. “At launch our model is based on 12 core criteria, such as AI usage, content mix, and image composition with more to come as we train and evolve it further.”
a powerful media editor
soona also released a handful of AI powered creative features in what they call Media Editor. With this tool, brands can customize their soona content even further by quickly removing the background or changing the background color. With just a few clicks, a single soona image can be turned into hundreds more customized assets. The tool is designed with sellers in mind so that brands can quickly meet the best practices of wherever they sell online including Amazon, Shopify, Walmart, Wix, WooCommerce, and more.
This beta release of Media Editor is just the beginning with its features set to evolve quickly to include editing options like blur, shadows, and backgrounds as well as quick cropping and design coming soon.
built for Amazon
Along with new AI tools, soona aims to be a key part of the creative workflow for its retail brands. The company executes over 300 photoshoots per week and takes nearly 2 million photos each year - that’s a lot of assets on their platform. soona has rethought their platform with a dashboard and organization system better tuned for digital asset management along with features that can streamline the creative workflows for some of its largest brands.
soona’s latest platform updates were built with Amazon sellers in mind. Now, over half of soona’s clients can integrate their Amazon store so that the soona platform can sync with their store’s product catalog information; provide actionable listing insights; and publish assets seamlessly from their soona gallery to their Amazon store.
The company plans to support even more merchants with platform integrations, such as publishing to Shopify and Canva, quickly following today’s release .
Liz Giorgi, soona’s CEO and co-founder, shared her view on the future of soona.
“We built soona to take on the challenges of creativity in commerce. The whole team is proud of being the fastest growing creative studio in the industry but we wanted to do more,” she said. “Technology is rapidly changing how brands sell and how content is made. With this beta launch we’re not only staying ahead of the curve but we’re ensuring that large scale content production is still easy, fun and, most importantly, beautiful.”
