• Stylophane recently released a ranking of the 500 Fastest Growing Brands on Pinterest, numbering the brands based on the amount of new followers in June. 
• Social shopping site Modcloth dominated the list, with 20,376 new followers. Rounding out the top five were Urban Outfitters (7,649) Forever 21 (7,567), Anthropologie (7,442), and Sephora (7,176). 
• The report also included lists for the top 500 footwear, beauty, and fashion brands on Pinterest.

Commenting on these retailers' success on Pinterest, Stylophane's Alex Mendoxa told Forbes that online sales rely heavily on image quality -- a "king component for social media." 

The social media site also allows smaller retailers to compete with heavy-hitters in fashion, helping them create a reach that would not have been possible in the pre-digital age of marketing. Modcloth was founded in 2002, and has risen in popularity on Pinterest thanks to its social-centric form of commerce.
