Dive Insight:
The Bay's holiday pop-up is meant to be a physical representation of its gift guide. The opening follows the launch of The Bay's holiday campaign featuring Emmy award-winning actor Annie Murphy. The retailer also introduced its first bilingual digital lookbook for Pinterest users and the "Holiday Your Way" campaign for TikTok users.
Hudson's Bay launched the online marketplace in early 2021 with plans to add more than 500 sellers by the end of this year. Categories sold on the marketplace include sports and recreation, tech, pets, health and wellness, and vintage designer handbags and watches. Hudson's Bay decided to separate its e-commerce business from its physical stores in August, spinning off The Bay into its own company. Hudson's Bay owns the company's fleet of stores, but The Bay is responsible for brand direction, marketing, buying, planning and technology for both companies.
"The assortment at Stackt has been thoughtfully curated to appeal to the local market, providing holiday inspiration to make shopping for the season effortless. I truly believe shoppers will be surprised and delighted to find all The Bay has to offer, especially with our new marketplace," Laura Janney, chief merchant at The Bay, said in a statement.
