Dive Brief:
- Online retailers did $1.2 billion in sales on Black Friday this year, according to a report released by ComScore.
According to the report, the top five online retailers for visits on Black Friday 2013 were:
- Amazon.com
- eBay
- Walmart
- Best Buy
- Target
- ComScore also expects to see Cyber Monday account for more than $2 billion in desktop and mobile sales (compared with $1.46 billion last year), setting new high for U.S. sales in a single day.
Dive Insight:
Amazon and eBay's places at the top of ComScore's list shouldn't surprise anyone. Meanwhile, Walmart is still fighting away to combat the king's of e-commerce, and given Best Buy's tumultuous history in recent years, the No. 4 spot is nothing to be ashamed of for that chain. These rankings will be interesting to watch in the coming years, particularly if Amazon.com starts drone delivery war.
