Dive Insight:
Fighting allegations that it sold Chinese-made laminate flooring containing high levels of formaldehyde, Lumber Liquidators is consolidating the leadership of its marketing and merchandising departments. Marco Q. Pescara, who has served as the company’s chief marketing officer since 2006, will take on the added role of chief merchandising officer when William K. Schlegel is terminated June 19.
Lumber Liquidators has experienced a significant leadership shakeup since 60 Minutes publicized allegations about its products in March, with Robert Lynch, CEO and director, and Ray Cotton, chief compliance officer resigning. Lumber Liquidators denies the allegations, but the Department of Justice plans to file criminal charges.
