Dive Insight:
Kohl’s is rolling out its buy online/pick up in-store service at all of its 1,164 locations after testing the service at 100 stores since last year. The move will speed the Kohl’s shopping experience and offer added convenience, the company says. It will also help the Kohl's stay competitive as more retailers continue to add to their omnichannel offerings with pick-up-in-store services.
When shopping Kohls.com, customers will be able to check merchandise availability at local outlets; if they choose in-store pickup, they will receive an additional e-mail informing them when their order will be ready -- all functions that hint at a solid omnichannel foundation at the retailer. Upon reaching the store, customers will be able to park in designated parking spots and take delivery at the customer service desk or jewelry counter.
