- Kohl's announced on Tuesday that it is partnering with Planet Fitness to open 10 workout centers adjacent to select Kohl's stores in 2019 with an eye on opening additional facilities in the future, according to a press release.
- The Planet Fitness facilities will be between 20,000 to 25,000 square feet in size, according to the company.
- Kohl's will also expand its plus-size product options with Nike in an effort to further position the company, "as an active and wellness destination for the entire family," the retailer said on an earnings call with analysts, according to a transcript from The Motley Fool.

Kohl's is continuing to press into the health and wellness space with its recent announcement of a strategic alliance with Planet Fitness.
Earlier in the year the company revealed a pilot program with WW (previously known as Weight Watchers) for an in-store WW Studio in Chicago. The retailer will also offer WW Healthy Kitchen products this summer in select stores and online.
CEO Michelle Gass explained on the call with analysts that leveraging real estate partnerships would benefit the company's physical locations. The decisions for collaborations are, "designed to enhance the store experience for our customers with the goal of driving more traffic to our stores and even greater relevancy," she said.
On Tuesday Kohl's reported a full-year comparable sales increase of 1.7% and a fourth quarter comparable sales increase of 1%.
