Nike announced on Monday the launch of Jordan Brand’s 23/7 shoe for kids. The easy-entry shoe has a step-in design that is comfortable for children. 

The shoe comes in multiple colorways that are a nod to “iconic Jordan moments and figures,” according to Nike. 

“Part of why we designed the 23/7 is because we wanted to create a shoe that is an everyday part of a kid’s world,” Tate Kuerbis, Jordan Brand design director for kids footwear, said in a statement. 

The shoe has a step-in design, a secure lockdown system and forefoot flexibility. Large pull loops allow the wearer to open the collar wider, and the heel and toe of the shoe are wrapped with rubber for durability. 

“Kids want to get into their shoes quickly to get out and play — this shoe enables them to do just that,” Kuerbis said. Kuerbis designed the Air Jordan signature 18,19 and 31 through 36. 

The 23/7 shoe in the Bloodline colorway will launch on Jan. 16. The Sky Fundamental will drop later in January and the Dunk on Mars colorway will debut in February.  

In 2021, Nike introduced the Nike Go FlyEase, a shoe that is designed for wearers to quickly put on and remove without needing to use their hands. The shoe uses a bi-stable hinge to keep it fully open or closed when wearers put on or take off the shoe. 

Nike invested in Handsfree Labs, a company that develops hands-free footwear technology, in 2019.
