Dive Insight:
Throughout 2021, Hims & Hers has focused on creating more products and getting those goods in front of more potential customers at retailers' physical stores or online.
In addition to Uber Eats, Hims & Hers has lined up major retail partnerships with Urban Outfitters, The Vitamin Shoppe and Walgreens this year alone. The company also introduced anti-aging and acne products as well as consultation services in September.
"We have found that adding in the on-demand factor to Hims & Hers products is a game-changer for many consumers," Hims & Hers Chief Operating Officer Melissa Baird said in a statement. "Our relationship with Uber will be the biggest on-demand push we've pursued to-date, and we are incredibly pleased to offer the ability for so many more people to be able to access our high quality health and wellness products when they need them."
As the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted Uber's rideshare business last year, the company saw a surge in food deliveries, according to The New York Times. Through its partnerships with Hims & Hers and other retailers, Uber has continued to pivot its business model toward other logistics services.
Among many other partnerships, Uber expanded its relationship with resale company Mercari in July to deliver local items directly to customers. It also recently began delivering children's essentials from more than 750 Bed Bath & Beyond and 120 BuyBuy Baby locations.
"We're always focused on making sure our customers can get anything — and personal wellness is no exception," Beryl Sanders, head of U.S. Uber Eats Partnerships, said in a statement. "Through our technology and logistics expertise, we're able to bring Hims & Hers directly to consumers at the tap of a button across the country, and we're thrilled to continue to expand this partnership in the near future."
