Dive Brief:
- Payment processing service Global Payments has named its current president Jeffrey S. Sloan as the company’s new active CEO.
- Sloan will replace Paul R. Garcia who previously held the role since 1999 and was appointed company chairman in 2002.
- Global Payments became a publicly traded company in 2001 with annual revenues under $350 million. Sales in 2013 will reach an estimated $2.5 billion.
Dive Insight:
Sloan has served with Global Payments since 2010 and assumed a larger role with the company beginning in 2012. Prior to his tenure with the international payment service company, Sloan spent 12 years as partner with Goldman, Sachs & Co.—a respectable stay. He now seems to have a bright future at Global Payments, particularly if he succeeds Garcia in the chairman role as well, which is expected to happen.
