Dive Insight:
DoorDash started in the restaurant delivery business in 2013, but has since expanded beyond food - from flowers to convenience stores to beauty. Ulta Beauty joined DoorDash in 2021 and the partnership is growing, per the release. The company has since heightened its other deals with beauty retailers Sephora, MAC Cosmetics and Sally Beauty.
DoorDash can deliver beauty favorites to doorsteps in under an hour on average, the company said. Ulta Beauty Rewards members can link their accounts to the app and continue earning rewards points.
“As our guests navigate increasingly busy lifestyles, we’re committed to introducing new, practical ways to meet them wherever they are shopping and ensure convenient beauty experiences for all,” Jodi Williams, vice president of e-commerce at Ulta Beauty, said in a statement.
Ulta Beauty is also on DashPass, DoorDash’s membership program with reduced fees and free delivery. In addition to DoorDash, Ulta Beauty’s same-day delivery is also accessible on ulta.com or through the Ulta Beauty app, powered by DoorDash Drive, the company’s white-label fulfillment platform for businesses.
DoorDash is continuing to expand its partnerships across retail and grocery, furthering its recent momentum into new categories and broadening its selection, per the company. The app welcomed Lowe’s to its marketplace last month as well as several fitness and wellness retailers like JD Sports, Finish Line and The Vitamin Shoppe at the beginning of the year. DoorDash has also added Pet Supplies Plus and Staples to its same-day delivery offering.
