Dive Insight:
Brooks Running is ushering in new leadership after more than two decades of Weber at the helm.
Weber joined the company’s board of directors in 1999 and was named CEO in 2001. He helped Brooks establish a long-term strategy, navigated the brand through near bankruptcy and spearheaded growth that led them to become a billion-dollar brand. Brooks global revenue was up 5% year over year in 2023, reaching $1.2 billion, with $1 billion of that coming from the North American market.
“I am incredibly proud of all Brooks has accomplished in my time here, the foundations we’ve built, and the position Brooks is in to continue its growth in 2024 and beyond,” Weber said in a statement. “Dan’s 25-year journey at Brooks has prepared him well for the CEO role. In addition to his broad-ranging functional expertise, Dan consistently leads with a customer-first mindset and people-centric operating mode, which have always been a success formula for Brooks.”
Sheridan, a long-time verteran of Brooks, helped guide the company through the pandemic, scaling the business, monitoring supply chains and diversifying the brand’s selling operation by embracing a true omnichannel approach.
“I have had the greatest opportunity to work and learn alongside Jim for most of my career at Brooks,” Sheridan said in a statement. “Together with the rest of our global team, we’ve created a great business, a winning workplace culture, and a brand that matters to runners and partners all over the world. I’m humbled and excited to lead the Brooks team and look forward to building on our momentum.”
Dodge, who will be taking over the chief operating role, joined Brooks in 2013 as associate general counsel. Over the past five years, he served has led the brand’s teams and businesses in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and Asia Pacific and Latin America regions. The company plans to announce a new leader for its EMEA business in the coming months.
The company has taken a series of steps over the past year to strengthen its management structure. Carson Caprara last May was promoted to senior vice president of footwear to lead all footwear design, development, product management and merchandising. That same month, Christophe Mahaut was promoted to senior vice president of supply chain operations. And earlier this year, Gabriel Rodriguez was named vice president of apparel and accessories, while Katie Carlson was promoted to senior vice president and chief human resources.
