Brent Bellm, a veteran of PayPal and the vacation-home site HomeAway, has been named CEO of Bigcommerce, the fast-growing global online retailing software provider. The Bigcommerce platform hosts more than 95,000 stores, and has recently inked agreements with PayPal and Alibaba.
“Throughout Brent’s impressive career, a common theme has been his passion for and work with small business owners to provide the resources and technologies that encourage greater success,” said outgoing CEO and founder Eddie Machaalani in a release. “Brent is the right leader to oversee our next stage of growth and ensure we are meeting the needs of today’s merchants and building a premium platform.”
Machaalani will continue to serve the company as its executive chairman.
