Sears drives sales to mobile site via PayPal express checkout

The retailer is using PayPal’s Express Mobile Checkout feature. The company’s mobile-optimized sites are powered by Netbiscuits, who recently announced that it is offering retailers the PayPal feature for faster, more secure checkout.

“PayPal is a highly accepted online payment system globally,” said Michael Neidhoefer, CEO of Netbiscuits. “Becoming a full member of the PayPal Mobile Partner Program enables us to offer the integration of the PayPal Mobile Express Checkout to all our Netbiscuits Platform customers.

“It is a win-win for our channel business aspirations with PayPal in North America and Europe,” he said.

Express checkout
The PayPal Mobile Express Checkout lets Sears enable the online payment service’s two-click mobile payment system for the mobile Web.

Consumers access any Sears mobile site – m.sears.com, m.kmart.com, m.craftsman.com and m.mygofer.com on their mobile browser.

After looking at the company’s products and deciding on the one they want to buy, consumers are routed to the checkout portal, where they can choose the PayPal mobile express checkout as their form of payment.

Then, consumers can add their PayPal username and password once and the checkout process can be completed within seconds, per Netbiscuits.

According to Netbiscuits, PayPal is a must for retailers.

The future of mcommerce
In addition to letting consumers check-out quicker, the service is proving that mobile commerce has developed exponentially in the past year and more companies are getting serious about a long-term mobile channel strategy.
