Using PayPal’s iPhone app, consumers can locate the Emeryville store, tap on the order-ahead button and place their order.
Consumers have the ability to add on items such as protein or a shot of daily vitamin boost to their beverages.
Furthermore, users can make special requests, such as substituting a fruit or adding something extra to it.
From there, consumers can choose to a pick-up time in and pay using the PayPal app.
Through the pilot program, consumers at the Emeryville location can simply bypass the line and cashier and simply go and pick up their drink.
When picking up your beverage, you can bypass the line and cashier and get your smoothie right away.
Currently, Emeryville is the first Jamba Juice location that will be testing the mobile ordering program.
According to PayPal, other locations will follow this year.
Driving innovation
In addition to the Jamba Juice pilot, PayPal also announced that 23 national retailers are now signed up to accept PayPal in their stores.
Additionally, PayPal is currently accepted in more than 18,000 physical retail locations.
Currently, many marketers are implementing PayPal into their mobile sites and applications to simplify the shopping experience for consumers.
“All the signs are showing that mobile is increasingly becoming substantial,” Mr. Nayar said.
