Users can save instantly with dozens of coupons from grocery chains such as Safeway, Kroger and Fred Meyer. The Coupon Sherpa mobile app is available for free download in Apple’s App Store.

“The strategy of the mobile app is to simply extend discounts and coupon usage from our Website to smartphone users,” said Cailyn Aanonson, spokeswoman for CouponSherpa.com.

“This makes it easier for consumers to find discounts on the go,” she said. “Smartphone use is on the rise and more consumers are expecting instant access to everyday shopping needs.

“It only makes sense as it’s instant, accessible and doesn’t require printing out a coupon from home beforehand – thus, you can decide what coupons to use as you shop, rather than before you leave home.”

CouponSherpa.com is one of three Web sites operating under the brand name TheFrugals.com and is dedicated to helping consumers save money and live more frugally.

Local deals
Consumers can input their ZIP code to see what offers are available locally.

Then, shoppers can select and save your favorite coupons. The offers are automatically added to their card to use during checkout.

Additionally, the app features coupons from many retailers that are exclusive to Coupon Sherpa users.

“Aside from already offering scannable and exclusive coupons for restaurants and retailers, the CouponSherpa app has now expanded into offering grocery coupons,” Ms. Aanonson said. 

“Consumers enter their ZIP code to find a supermarket in their area, save desired grocery coupons from their phone to their loyalty card, and enjoy instant savings when their card is swiped at checkout,” she said.

“This provides on-the-go convenience as shoppers don’t have to plan out their coupon usage before leaving home.”

Mobile coupons
The app also features hundreds of in-store coupons and lets shoppers find coupons by category or store name.

Consumers can also email coupons to friends and family and create their own favorites list of stores.
