Penna Wear launched today as the premium alternative to medical scrubs. Born out of frustration with the low quality and lack of style of medical apparel, Penna Wear is designed to be stylish and functional both in and out of the workplace, offering versatility that adds value beyond the typical medical uniform.
We are creating an entirely new category for medical apparel, leading with innovative materials finishings through design that meets the needs of discerning healthcare professionals.
Developed by prominent dentist Dr. David Shouhed and Levi’s and Nike executive alum Grant Barth, the longtime friends launched Penna to create a premium option for elite practitioners looking for a stylish, functional, and durable choice for everyday wear.
“We wanted to provide a premium alternative for practitioners in the medical field who want to look good at work and leverage technology for comfort, sustainability, and durability,” said Grant Barth, Co-Founder of Penna Wear.
By using superior materials, elevating performance, and using silhouettes borrowed from sportswear, Penna Wear is custom-built for the specific needs of medical professionals. It uses advanced, high-performance fabrics with greater durability, comfort, and sustainability. The fabric is crafted with 95% recycled polyester, reusing approximately two plastic bottles per item.
All Penna products are made with Diamond Flow, an innovative, engineered fabric that increases airflow, optimizes ventilation, and drives breathability. Improved airflow amplifies evaporation for maximum moisture-wicking and cooling, supporting superior overall temperature regulation. The line is tailor-made for men and women and includes various products and price points, from a women’s jogger at $98.00, a men’s jacket at $198.00, and a men’s shirt for $78.00. The pieces can be purchased individually or in sets at Pennawear.com.
Penna strives to lead the premium style x performance apparel offering for the health wear industry.
