The Paper Store Celebrates Grand Opening of New Retail Concept with Largest Store Ever

At a time when many names in the retail industry are slimming down brick and mortar stores, The Paper Store, a Massachusetts based family-owned gift retailer for more than 60 years, is launching a major expansion to the size of its stores and the retail shopping experience within them. The company’s first pilot of this signature store concept launches with the grand re-opening of its Bellingham, MA, store located in the Charles River Center (245 Hartford Ave), on November 12 and 13. 

The weekend-long celebration will include goodie bags valued over $85 plus mystery gift cards for the first 50 customers to visit the store each day, a visit from Santa from 1-3 p.m. each day (with the opportunity to take free family photos), a special mailbox to mail letters to Santa, plus meet and greets with favorite local vendors, product giveaways and more. Ten percent of all proceeds from the 2-day grand opening will be donated to Bellingham Public Schools. 

The Bellingham store, nearly double the size of the Company’s average store, showcases 12,000 sq feet of new brands and departments where customers can have hands-on, interactive experiences that allows them to have an engaging and immersive shopping experience. The Paper Store’s newest location features a new pet department with a dog treat station, a free flavored-water filling station, and exciting new in-store experiences including ear piercing and a children’s play area. There’s also a whimsical candy station where customers can mix and match their favorite sweets from Sugar and Co. and sample a variety of treats from food tasting stations throughout the store. Company Founders from favorite local brands, such as home décor company Rustic Marlin and popular jewelry brand T. Jazelle will also make special appearances during the Grand Opening.

As an added convenience for the busy shopper, the Bellingham store features a gift-wrapping department that includes a self-service gift assembly as well as a premium, full-service option. Gifts can be shipped directly from the store- completing the gifting journey in one, simple visit.

The new Bellingham, MA store has opened to rave customer reviews, attracting existing devoted customers, and has introduced a new audience to the brand. “We had high hopes that consumers would embrace the new boutique look and feel for our brand, but the success has surpassed all our wildest expectations,” notes family member Tom Anderson. who is also President & CEO. “This will be the first of many new Signature Concepts stores for us in the Northeast and my family and I are proud to reinvest back into the community that has supported our company for so many years.”
