(March 4, 2020) – Amplify Snack Brands, the leading better-for-you (BFY) snacking company responsible for SkinnyPop Popcorn and Pirate’s Booty, is virtually showcasing recent innovations and exciting product developments that would have been on display at Natural Products Expo West 2020 from March 3-7 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. The show was postponed this week amid coronavirus concerns.
Amplify, which was acquired by The Hershey Company in 2017, is currently the number one BFY Salty Snacking player across measured channels. The company has a vision to become the largest and fastest growing BFY snacking player overall.
SKINNYPOP CHIPS

SKINNYPOP TWIST OF LIME
Amplify also recently introduced a new flavor to their SkinnyPop Popcorn lineup — Twist of Lime. Lime is the third fastest growing flavor in Salty Snacks but has been underdeveloped in popcorn. Amplify saw this flavor’s popularity as an opportunity to grow their snacking profile and introduced a refreshing twist of lime. Their innovation paid off, with 62 percent of SkinnyPop consumers saying that Twist of Lime will be an incremental purchase.
“At Amplify, we’re all about snacking innovation,” said Chu. “So, when we saw lime’s growth as a popular flavor with consumers of Salty Snacks, we knew we had the opportunity to create something our fans would love. We’re constantly looking to develop new flavors to make snacking even more exciting!”
PIRATE’S BOOTY VEGGIE STICKS
Pirate’s Booty Veggie & Fruit Sticks is another recent innovation from Amplify Snack Brands. These tasty snacks are a hit with kids, and the only veggie sticks on the market that actually contain ½ cup of vegetables in every serving. Unlike other products in the veggie sticks space, Pirate’s Booty Sticks are always baked, never fried.

Amplify’s new Krave Plant-Based Jerky is a response to the growing consumer demand for plant-based meat alternatives and the lack of alternatives within the jerky category. By leaning on its existing equity in portable protein, Krave Plant-Based Jerky is well-positioned to win over consumers with its superior taste, texture and nutrition.
“The plant-based movement has yet to hit jerky because current options do not deliver on consumers’ expectations,” said Jimmy McClain, Brand Manager, Krave. “However, we recognized that the plant-based movement wasn’t off-limits to Krave and actually presented an opportunity to showcase our brand’s innovation.”
